Vanbursta Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 I had to remove the N/S rear panel recently and I discovered that my GAl has a booster heater fitted, trouble is I don't have any controls to turn it up/down with, if the front heater is on MAX, the rear heater blows out really hot air at gale force 9, but there doesn't seem to be any individual controls for it, the owners manual mentions 4 buttons on the clock, 2 of which are for setting the clock and the other 2 of which are for the booster heater, but my clock only has 2 buttons, can someone please tell me what should be fitted to control the rear heater and where? the car has climate BTW. Guest 3.5bullet Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 Unless it was fitted as an option you wont have the booster heater like the TDI's have  the heater unit you found is either controlled by a isolation switch on the center consule to the left of the radio, and then the fan speed and heat output is controlled by a set of dials on the head lineing above the rear passenger side door 'C' post if you have CC then the unit is controlled from the CC panel Quote
seatkid Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 4 button clock is an option rarely found below the artic circle. You're reading the wrong part of the manual..... Inside, under the N/S rear panel is the ....rear heater.... The booster heater is a fuel burning unit under the car in front of the N/S rear wheel. It has a small exhaust pipe c/w mini catalytic convertor..... Quote
